5 Tools To Reduce Anxiety Instantly

High Anxiety

The election is a less than a week and causing anxiety for many people. If you’re an empath like myself, you can feel this chaos just about anywhere you go. Division is at an all-time high and someone my age, 55, hasn’t experienced this sort of division before. I don’t know if it’s because of the internet and its easy access to information, or the information it feeds you due to the algorithms. Either way, it sucks. So how can we calm this monkey mind as we go through this divided election.

In fact, I’ll be practicing the first letter in the acronym, S for Serenity. Finding a time and creating a space of serenity is vital. Even if it’s for 5 minutes a day. Turn off all devices and sit outside, weather permitting, and just breathe. It will lower your heart rate where your body will begin to soften from the stiff rigid state it’s been feeling. You’ll be able to feel this immediately.

Hope

Every situation offers hope. Some situations will feel worse than others, but there is always hope. Whether it’s to learn a lesson, or it shines the light on something that has been very dark we weren’t aware existed. The one thing that nature has taught us is that nothing stays the same forever and there are seasons, which is a blessing and a curse. Some things we’d rather stay the same because it’s familiar. Where as change can be great, but also cause great anxiety because of the fear of the unknown.

Focusing on the thing we hope for will ease some anxiety. It won’t necessarily get rid of it 100% but focusing your attention on the thing you want or hope for is a good start to raise your vibration and connecting with that frequency, as I’ve spoken of before in a few other blogs. https://wellnessgardentoolshed.com/how-to-get-the-law-of-attraction-to-manifest/

Intentions

By focusing your attention on the things you want or desire, it builds excitement and alleviates some anxiety. We give up our own personal power when we don’t take action. Don’t let this election diminish your power. When we live a life with intention, we are co-creating our lives with Source or the Collective energy. (Call it what you want. The energy itself doesn’t care what it’s called.) When we create out of fear, we get more things to show up that makes us afraid. When we create out of love or excitement, the Universe gives us more reason to be excited. I can’t stress this enough. Just try this and watch your anxiety melt.

Say the election doesn’t go the way you wanted it. Really dig down and see how this will affect you personally. Will you lose your job? Will you lose your home? Worse, will you lose your family? Set an intention for how you’ll handle each scenario. You can’t control what others do around you, but you have control of how you’ll react. Be one of solutions and problem solving. That’s how I handle things beyond my control. It gives me hope that there is a solution out there that I haven’t found, YET.

Notice

Noticing how your energy affects your outcomes helps you to understand how this stuff works. It gives validation that you are on the correct path. Seeing synchronicities also helps anxiety. It either shows the lessons or offers solutions. Notice who shows up in your life.

Unfortunately, I predicted that reality television was going to be the death of our society, but had no idea it could look as bad as it’s beginning to look. But we can change the outcome. We can link the amount of anxiety with the internet and social media. That’s today’s reality show. Except it’s not a television that we’re looking at, TikTok, YouTube, the phone. We believe that a clip in time is showing who everyone is. We begin to compare our lives with those that look like they have more and it creates depression and anxiety. So quit looking at it and notice how you feel once you’ve quit.

Notice the things that make you feel good, like walking in nature, taking a bike ride, reading a book, learning, baking, creating, you get the idea. Notice you aren’t as anxious. All of these steps are in my SHINE Method which isn’t new information at all. It’s just a reminder.

Last But Not Least, Empowerment

The last part of my SHINE Method is the “E” for empowerment. When you have or feel your own personal power, you won’t feel anxiety. Feeling helpless creates anxiety. How can you feel that if you are finally taking control of your emotions?

For some reason during the 2010’s era people were extremely addicted to their problems and diagnosis. Focusing on all of your issues, will hardwire those issues into your brain and debilitate you. It leaves you feeling hopeless, like you have to accept that you will always be broken.

Neuroplastiticy tells us that our brains can rewire itself. Sometimes you need a prescribed pill to get jump start the rewiring. In order for those pills to work correctly, you have to do some work as well. That’s where you need to be proactive and intentionally change the negative talk into positive talk. It may feel fake at first, but after awhile it will turn into a habit, then a belief.

What’s the Upside to Anxiety?

I don’t ever think I’ve thought of anxiety having an upside, but it’s a symptom of a problem that wants you to address. If we didn’t have negative emotions in our lives, then how would we know what was good. You need issues to allow you to appreciate the good times. We are a whole person. We all possess a light side and shadow side. It’s up to you to decide what energy you chose to act upon.

I’ve never considered myself as an anxious person, but I do tend to have what I call nervous energy. Apparently, many would say they are synonomous. Being that I have all of this energy, I use it as my super power to get things done. I write roughly 3-4 blogs a month, occasionally write a novel, produce YouTube Shorts and TikTok videos 5 days a week, I do a weekly YouTube video, and manage to still do hair 4 days a week. None of that includes my fun activities such as riding bikes, hiking, and visiting people. So if this is anxiety, or as I call it nervous energy, I guess this would be the upside of having it.

Reframing the mindset surrounding anxiety and not taking it as a negative, helps me sleep at night. Ok, I don’t always sleep at night, but I tend to look for solutions with that crazy energy, which in turn gives me strength and power. I’d encourage you to look at things from a different point of view and see if it helps. Lord knows, we could all use some healing and calmness during this time.

The truth is that there is no actual stress or anxiety in the world; it’s your thoughts that create these false beliefs. You can’t package stress, touch it, or see it. There are only people engaged in stressful thinking.

My Hope

My hope is for those experiencing high amounts of anxiety or stress is to know that you aren’t alone, and to know there is a different way to look at things. Beliefs are only thoughts that you’ve had for a long time that you believe to be true. I believe that most people are inheritantly good. And because of that thought or belief, I am blessed to have wonderful people in my life. You can do the same thing.

We will all go through times of difficulty and strife, that’s normal. It’s not fun, but is guaranteed in this physical life. Know there is always hope. It isn’t about never having anxiety, but how long you will allow yourself to live in that space. Take care during this time and be kind.
