Greed Is Rooted in Fear

What is Greed?

I think we all know what greed is. But I’d describe greed as when you you are never satisified with the what you’ve acquired or achieved, whether it be money, food, sex, power, etc. The dictionary states this in the link below. No matter how you describe it, it is what I believe, to be the worst of the seven deadly sins. https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/greed

Horrific crimes stem from greed. And now we see it unfold in real time. What is this obsession with greed? Especially when it’s displayed by some of the richest people in the world. What more could one that rich possibly want?

Well, it stems from a place of lack. Lack is rooted in fear, like greed. It’s the fear of losing what you have or that what you have isn’t enough. Therefor making that person feel afraid as if they are not enough; which comes from fear not of love.

Love or Fear

There are really only two emotions, love and fear. Everything stems from one of those emotions just at different degrees. Greed is fear that if you don’t have it all, you will lose out or it can be taken from you. It also is an indicator that you are relying on outside sources to make you happy or feel loved, when true happiness and love come from within our own being. Ambition should not be confused with greed. Being ambitious is about wanting to do great things or to push yourself to be better. To me, the difference lies in the underlying intention. It could still be about acquiring more money or things, but doesn’t soley allow those things to define the individual. Ambition isn’t about hurting others in order for you to get ahead.

Intentions Matter

It’s always about intentions. Whether you’re starting a business or a relationship inentions matter. Is your business solely to provide you with money at all costs? Or are you offering a service or product that will help enhance the customers’ lives? It matters because energy is in that intention. The first question has a fear vibe with it, or a desparation to it, doesn’t sound like that is coming from a good place, does it?

Studies have shown when words are written on water to be frozen, will indicate what crystal patterns will appear. You may wonder how water knows what words are being used. But it’s the intention of the one writing the words know what the meaning is. Dr. Masaru Emoto’s book, The Hidden Messages in Water best illustrates his theory along with this video. https://youtu.be/5cyQVu_8EFc?si=cDDpbWZE8EKBUeQM Even water knows the difference between love and fear.

Check In With Yourself

It’s a good idea to check in with yourself and be honest and ask yourself “why” you are doing what you’re doing? Your answer will be a clear indicator where your energy and mindset is. Know the difference between ambition and greed.

Greed makes you feel anxious and that you must hoard all that you have. I wish I knew why the richest man in the world still needs to have more. He already has more than literally everyone. The only logical reason is the fear of not having enough. Or letting your things define you as a person.

When your ambitious, there is an energy element of excitement and enthusiam. It’s not competing with others, yet like a competition with yourself to see if it’s possible. Abundant thinking or believing that something that seems impossible can be achieved has a much more positive vibe with it; falls on the love vibration.

In Conclusion

While greed and ambition may share some overlapping descriptors, they are fundamentally different. Some may perceive them as similar, but that largely depends on individual beliefs and upbringing.

I recall a conversation with my mother when I mentioned wanting a pool in my backyard. Her response was one of skepticism—questioning why I felt the need for such things, as if desiring more was inherently wrong. In return, I asked, “Why not?” I explained that I was responsibly saving for retirement, paying my bills on time, and managing my finances wisely. Why, then, should it be considered excessive or selfish to want something enjoyable? I even asked if she might be feeling jealous, as her questioning seemed to imply guilt rather than genuine concern.

Her reaction surprised me. She admitted that perhaps she was jealous and, to my astonishment, began to cry. Seeing her so vulnerable moved me deeply, as my mother rarely showed such emotions. In that moment, I realized she didn’t fully understand my intentions. My ambition was not about hoarding wealth or accumulating possessions for the sake of status—it was about striving for success and creating a fulfilling life.

Life is abundant, and the desire for material things does not inherently make one greedy. The distinction lies in intention. I wanted a pool not as a symbol of excess but as a space to bring family and friends together, fostering connection and joy. Ultimately, I never got the pool, yet my relationships remained strong, proving that happiness is not rooted in possessions but in the fulfillment we cultivate within. While material things can enhance life’s experiences, true contentment comes from within. That, in essence, defines the difference between ambition and greed. Ambition is rooted in love, while greed is rooted in fear.

Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction.

Gratitude

I hope you all are taking care of yourselves during this time of uncertainty. Greed for money and power are rooted in all of our negativity in our country. I hope that love and kindness will prevail in the long run. If history repeats itself, then we know things will work out, but not without casualities. If we can come together in harmony and peace and not fear our differences, but embrace each others uniqueness, then we can accomplish miracles.

I write these blogs in hopes that it offers comfort and/or knowledge and information that might be useful for you to empower yourself. The better we feel individually, the more we are likely to help one another. Here’s a little video I thought would be helpful to manifest when sh** hits the fan because it can be hard when life throws you a bunch of lemons. Thank you again, for your support. Until next time. https://youtu.be/Nn6O09nhaqg?si=INDBXELvkaDoKFWy
